You don’t need to make drastic changes to see a major difference in your greens – both in your wallet and your impact on the earth. Check out these simple tips for maximizing your water conservation and savings.

  • Fixing leaks can save up to 600 gallons of water per month. Check for leaks inside and outside.

  • Operate clothes and dishwasher only when full. This can save you as much as 1,000 gallons of water per month.

  • Shorten your shower by at least two minutes and you’ll save as much as 150 gallons per month.

  • Water your yard in the morning or evening to reducing evaporation loss of water.

  • Sweep instead of using water to clean your driveway, patio and sidewalks.

  • Recycle water used to rinse fruits, vegetables and rice to water plants and yard.

  • If the water flow easily off your yard onto the sidewalk, use shorter water periods to provide better water absorption.

  • Let your grass grow higher. A taller lawn shades roots and retains water better.

  • Use sprinklers for large areas of grass and water small patches by hand to limited waste.

  • Route rain water from your roof to your yard.
